National Parks & Monuments
Pictured here are the Badlands of SD, Teddy Roosevelt, Glacier, Yellowstone, Big Bend, Arches, Canyonlands, Big Bend, Saguaro, White Sands and Rocky Mountain national parks. As well as points in Arizona, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park and Devils Tower National Monument.
Minnesota Landscapes
In Minnesota, our photography includes the North Shore of Lake Superior, the Mississippi River and Pelican Lake, Wright County.
Iowa Landscapes
We lived in Storm Lake, IA for 31 years, eventually recognizing the beauty of the city, Buena Vista County and the Loess Hills of western Iowa.
Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge
This 30,700 acre refuge was established in 1965 along the St. Francis River Basin in Sherburne County, MN. The refuge is combination of prairie and forest, including oak savanna, grasslands, forest, and wetland habitats. These days, it's where I walk with my cameras.
SNWR Sandhill Cranes
More than 50 pair of Sandhill Cranes nest at the Refuge, and upwards of 18,000 cranes pass through during fall migration.
SNWR Wildlife
Bird watchers have identified 238 bird species within the Refuge, which is a sanctuary for migratory birds.
SNWR Blossoms & Bugs
300-plus species of native flowers attract birds and bugs at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge.
SNWR Landscapes
The Refuge is a mosaic of prairie, wetlands, forest and oak savanna, which has become rare to Minnesota these days.
